If you park in the small lot next to Target and cross the footbridge, it is the second field you will reach as you walk into the field area.
Later today the League is supposed to provide me with trophies, team photos and -- most importantly -- certificates for free ice cream to give to all the players after the game tomorrow. It will be fun!

I received the team's jerseys last night. I will have them available this evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and also tomorrow evening from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 20 Beech Tree Lane. I also will have pants, caps and socks for those who have not yet received them.

I have not received another practice field from the League yet. Nevertheless, I am scheduling another practice for Monday, April 20 at Spring Road Field from 6:30 p.m. to dusk. Please let me know if your player can or cannot attend. This field is adjacent to the Southbound side of the Hutchinson River Parkway. From Pelham take the Boston Post Road heading toward the Bronx. Go under the Hutchinson River Parkway overpass and make the first left immediately before "Knucklehead's Tavern" onto Spring Road. The field is located about 2/10's of a mile on the left. The parking lot is about 100 yards before the field. We do not have a permit for the field, but will be able to practice in one of the three adjacent grassy areas if the field is in use at that time. Much of our last practice was spent on the basics of throwing and catching. Much of Monday's practice will be spent on the basics of hitting. You may wish to have your player review the following training videos which only take a few minutes to watch:

I was very proud of our players yesterday and had a wonderful time myself. Phoebe and Callie pummeled those poor Madagascar Penguin targets with their pinpont accuracy and strong throws. Ava had some catches that would make Yankees Center Fielder Brett Gardner proud! I can already envision a strong middle order for the batting lineup: Alex, Tess and Jennifer. Yet, believe it or not, we still have a powerful crew who have not yet made it to spring training camp due to their travel schedules: Nora, Bridget, Julia and Kristina!
When I get another practice field for next week, I will let everyone know!
To all our players: make sure you practice with your Moms and Dads this week. I know they will be impressed with what you have learned and it will be fun!

To The Players: Spring is Here and It's Time To Play!
You are a member of the Pelham Pirates Girls International Softball Team! This is very exciting!
I am your coach. My name is Blake Bell. You can call me Coach or Coach Blake or Coach Bell. We have five other coaches: Stephen Broege (Alexandra's Dad), Tom Roksvold (Kristina's Dad), Ed Petti (Bridget's Dad) and Gary and Kathleen Rothschild (Phoebe's Mom and Dad).
The great thing about this team is that everyone's Mom and Dad can be a coach or can be with us just to watch the fun! We are going to have lots of fun together. We are going to run and play. We will learn to throw balls the way the big ballplayers do. We will hit balls with our baseball bats the way Major League ballplayers do and will practice on batting tees also the way Major League ballplayers do. We will have our own uniforms and will learn to catch with our baseball gloves the way we are supposed to use those gloves.
Most importantly, we are going to make fnew riends while we play! We are going to learn lots of wonderful things together. I can hardly wait!
